Democracy Over

They should print a reciept to stay onsite at the election, and another for the voter to keep, if they so choose.

I can't imagine that any money savings made by using computers for this task compares to the credibility problems Diebold brings to US elections, but I think it's an issue where major politicians won't say "the democracy has no clothes," for fear of looking crazy.

He makes some pretty serious accusations about a fradulent election in Florida; I wonder if he'll be sued for libel.

"exit polling data significantly different from the results is probably hacked".

programmers aren't statisticians.

side note:
if ohio was flipped and bush lost the electoral college but won the popular vote, what would you think?

does that differ from your opinion about the 2000 election?

Ivan you are right about that guys answer to that question.

The diffrence between 2000 and 2004 is that they got better at cheeting and didnt need the SCOTUS to vote him in.

so even the _popular_ vote was changed in your mind?

that's a bigger effort.

The main reason why conspiracies like this are difficult to believe is that they require many people acting in unison with no one coming forward. Note this guy had no evidence about the presidential elections.

Also, I want to make sure there are no delusions that only rightey politicians would take advantage of cheating. The 'they' in "they got better at cheating" has me worried.

Also, SCOTUS only upheld that the authority was in florida to decide when the decision was final in 2000. That isn't exactly "appointed" as many would like to believe. I must be a masochist bringing up that election...
