Extra Aqua Vitae Nulla Salus

Cabin workshop

OK, here's what I've come up in Wisconsin:

Deal out Scrabble tiles - I think the best way is for each player to just reach in the bag and take two.

Round of betting.

The flop: flip over three tiles.

Round of betting.

The turn: one more tile.

Round of betting

The river: A final tile.

Last round of betting.

The word with the higher point score wins (that is, use your Js, Xs, and Qs). In a tie, a longer word will win. In this game, you can use all seven "cards."

Pretty fun; would like to try with a large group. It looks as if it's been developed for mobile phones.

So you bet that you can get the highest scoring word, but don't have to if everyone folds?

I like it!

Scrabble Omaha High-Low anyone?

The ties in lows (and highs), e.g. 2 point 2 tile words, could be broken by a measure of obscurity of the word. Anyone have a count of each word used on the Internetworks?

I think this is the beginning of a beautiful game.
