The iPod

The NEW iPod, that is. Thin (less than 1/2-inch), wider screen (320x240), 20GB, video capable, with TV outs. This means you can keep your favorite episode of southpark ('trapperkeeper' natch) with you at all times, and watch it on a tiny screen, or on a big TV if you have cables.

I've been looking forward to something like this. Is there a 20GB attachment to a PSP that could be just as good?

I've had my 3rd generation 10G for three years now, and was already looking forward to its demise...

This is awesome, BUT the video out should support 740X480 or better to be a replacement for DVD; engadget suggests it's 320X240.

I thought the display is 320x240. They should put a chip on there to decode and output higher resolutions. Maybe that'll be the next gen... HI-Pod

I was talking about this last night, in excited anticipation of the announcement. While I might be semi interested in watching Real Time or something on an iPod, I think he really useful application is watching media on an actual display - a TV or projector. 320X240 may be alright, but it's not as good as what we're used to. Ideally the Errol Morris, Brothers Quay, etc. films that I've downloaded but not felt like watching in my office can be put on an iPod and seen on my TV.
