John F. Kerry has won a major proxy fight for the Presidency.

Congratulations, Boston.

If St. Louis wins, is that a proxy victory for the candidate winning the South?

Going to Boston this weekend, I plan on seeing a very happy town.

No, it was just the Yankees-Sox series -- St. Louis isn't even in the south, really. The Yankees, on the other hand are strongly associated with the republican party (Jeter does commercials, google steinbrenner and nixon), and Boston with John Kerry. World series wouldn't be fair anyway, due to a curse which renders its results largely outside the realm of normal human experience.

I think it's safe to say that if the Sox win the series AND Kerry wins the presidency, Boston will become the happiest place America has seen since, well, maybe the end of Dubya-Dubya II. It will be the kind of upheaval that has strangers hugging and making-out in ticker-tape showers, and its lasting effects will have Bostonites saying "Good Morning!" to strangers on a regular basis.
